Creativity in progress

I'm still working on it…

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Last night, I took my kids to Bull Run Festival of Lights show. They even had a carnival that my kids enjoyed very much despite the freezing cold weather. Lately we’ve been driving around the area to find houses with a nice light decoration, and though it’s not all that easy taking my kids for any outing, seeing Christmas lights definitely puts me in the holiday spirit. Kyle is so excited about Christmas and that makes this the most wonderful time of the year.

I put little crystal beads inside a Sweet Treat Cup. Print and cut the ornament element and closed it with digital paper.

Oh, and I also made a fabric ornament. I must work on my sewing skill.

Printed on a PhotoFabric.

Bingo Happy Birthday Card

Number of View: 1069

I’ve been making cards for my design team projects that I had no use for it. So, I’ve decided that I will only create something that I can actually use from now on. It’s not going to be that easy always creating something that relates to my life, hehe. What do you do with all the creative stuff you make?

When I saw number 7 on the Bingo card, I thought it would be the perfect birthday card as I have a 7-year-old girl birthday party to attend tomorrow.

Sahlin Studio has moved to the Lilypad digital scrapbooking store! This beautiful fall kit coordinates with the Lilypad’s October BYOC kit. I’m still not 100% sure what TLP’s BYOC is about, hehe, so go check it out! =) TLP is having a huge SALE this weekend!!!

Chrysanthemum

I made this card to participate Let’s Capture Our Memories challenge – Die Cuts. Inspired by my friend, Corinne‘s punch flower card. She is a LCOM DT and I’ve been wanting to participate their challenges ever since she joined the team.

I was trying to create a video tutorial for how to make this chrysanthemum, but it didn’t work out. I re-took “Hi, I’m going to show you how to make this flower with Sizzix, ummmm…., blah, blah, blah… ” over and over again. I didn’t think it was that hard to make the video tutorial, but it wasn’t something I could do it without practice. Mumbling in my head was easy, but saying out loud was not comfortable. I wasn’t sure I was using the right word. I thought writing for the blog was hard, but the video was even more challenging. And, I wanted to be a movie star when I was growing up! Thank goodness I didn’t pursue that dream, hehe. I have soooo much more respect for all the crafters who make video tutorial.

Die cut flowers: Sizzix Bigz Die - Flower, Daisies #2
10 small, 6 medium, 6 large flowers. You could add more layers, I just didn’t have the patience and my fingers were aching from all crumbling, hehe.
Using the cardstock papers that have different colors on each side would be pretty, too.

Fold a small flower into half.
Then, roll it together.

Fold another small flower in half.
Wrap it around the first flower.
I used some glue to secure the side and the bottom.

Squished it on the desk to make it curl in.

Now, add the third flower around the first two.

This is the bottom of the flower.
When adding a new layer, make sure not to align the petals with the front layer.

Keep adding more layers. Wrinkle it with your fingers to shape.

Don’t you just love all the white space?! Hehe. I love simple, clean, and minimalist designs but always have a hard time creating one myself. Any tips/tricks you can share?
