happy birthday mini album

I made another 4×4 mini album, inspired by Susanna’s Paper Craft Planet 3D Tuesday Challenge: Time Flies (Indeed!!!). She created a PSD file for you to download to create the similar album (calendar book) on her blog.

I’ve seen a lot of these triangle banners used on scrapbook layouts, and wanted to try.

I like the roughness of the eyelets’ back view. =)

Printed on Red River Paper (60 lb. River Linen). I received A LOT of inkjet printer paper samples from the Red River Paper the other day, and I LOVE IT. I love the thickness for my hybrid projects, and it printed beautifully.

Isn’t this cute or what! Heehee. I made another vehicle with Kelleigh’s Mini Mailbox template (small size). It’s a camping trailer.

Initially, I was going to make a house, but these woodland animals inspired me to make a camping trailer instead.

Where did these animals come from?

I used a binder clip for the connector(?)

Used the frosted plastic for the windows.

Hmm… I guess I better make a truck to go with this. =)

Thanks to LAD for letting me play with their newest stamp set, A Little Love. It is very adorable stamp set and will be passed down from generation to generation. Okie… my son and daughter will have to fight who will get to keep this one, heehee.

I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to put in the heart basket even after I printed and cut the template out. But, I had a chance to talk with a TheDigiChick CT, Sinead about paper flowers, and got totally motivated to create these flowers. This time I used the ribbons instead of the papers. I wanted to make more flowers, but only had 3 lollipops, heehee. Tied with pink waxy floss. A big thanks to Sinead for giving me the inspiration!

Do you like it?
I LOVE IT!
I love how it turned out, heehee. I got to play with Pink Cat Studio’s brand new Paper Piecing Projects. I used Pazzles Inspiration Electronic Cutter for all the Pink Cat files. I’m still a novice Pazzles user, but it definitely made the cutting easier. And faster!

This is a Swarovplastic (Swarovski + plastic, heehee) Butterfly Cage. Gems are Swarovski crystals.

Still experimenting with clear sheets. Haven’t found the perfect adhesive yet. Here, I put painter’s tape (over the clear sheet’s protective cover) on the butterfly cage while the glue was drying.

This project took me three days to complete mainly because of glue drying time. I don’t think I’ll use the painter’s tape directly on the clear sheet though. It left the gummy/sticky marks, you know.

I coated Martha Stewart glitter on the antennae and the body.

layer addict

Heeheehee. I’ve made another calendar. It is very addictive, you know. I’m actually obssessed with it these days. I have other projects to work on, but can’t stop thinking about making more calendars. Heehee.
I was watching a movie, “Pure” while editing these photos. It’s about a boy helping his mom with a heroine addiction. I watched it cause Kiera Knightley, but the boy was pretty good. Anyway, that’s how I came up with my blog post title.

These are one layer creation. I did not cut any extra papers to glue on it. It is VERY DIFFICULT technique for me, heehee. When I work on a project, I feel the need to fill up the white space or cut more papers and glue on top. I had to keep remind myself it’s okay not to make paper-piece or paper-tole project. Heehee.

Well, you can’t see it on the photo, but I had to add extra touch to the calendar. So I added glossy paint over the square Pearly Polka paper. I didn’t add extra papers, just added a coat of clear paint. =)

I’ve used Danielle Young Designs‘ Countdown Template and Pearly Polka digital papers to create the calendar. I doubled the height, repeated the numbers, then reduced the size down to 3.5 by 7 inches.

This calendar was inspired by Danielle’s blog post about a printable calendar. Thanks, Danielle!

I changed the number to dark grey for coordinating month.

Added a pearl embellishment to the paper clip.

My crafting room was so cold to the point I didn’t want to stay in there to craft. Even with two layers of cloths, I was shivering, and my fingers didn’t move, hehe. I could just feel the cold wind coming in from outside, and I was complaining we had cheap windows installed. Duh~~~!!!! Turns out that I did not close the window properly. It had gap. No wonder it was the coldest room in the house, geez. It’s now warm. Heehee.

I used Danielle Young Designs‘ newest digital paper pack, “Pearly Polka“. It is soooo cute and pretty. Comes in 12 colors! I love polka dots and love fake pearls, so this is so perfect!

CD template: Hybrid Magic no. 29: Round CD Calendar by with love by Mushy. White base cd template and the flowers were cut with Pazzles die cut machine. I glued 2 layers of the base cardstocks to make the each sheet of calendar.

We had our first snow this past Saturday, and the snow on the tree gave me the idea for this snow flowers. I thought Danielle Young’s newest holiday digital kit, Oh, Joy! (Collaboration with Cinzia) would make the beautiful flowers and pot with Kelleigh Ratzlaff’s Cupcake Box Template.
I saw this gorgeous felt rose bud bouquet last week, and I immediately thought about having another baby girl (urmmm… like I could easily pick the gender, hehe). I would have loved to make the bouquet for her first birthday party. This felt bouquet put my pom-pom topiary tree that I made for Bailey’s 1st b-day party to shame. But, nah… I can’t even handle two kids that I already have. Hehe.

Printed Oh, Joy! digital papers on Epson Double-Sided Matte Inkjet Paper. Punched it out with Stampin’ Up! Scallop Circle punch.

Spiral cut.

Condition the flowers with a round pen or stylus pen so it can roll/bend easily. This way you won’t get the creases in the paper. The pen I’m using on the photo came with American Crafts rub ons.

Curl the edge using the pen. Roll from the outside of the circle to form the flower.

Form the bud, and glue the bottom. I used hot glue gun.

Glue the center. I used the tweezer to hold the center while the glue dried.

I put 3″ styrofoam inside the cupcake and attached the flowers with the hot glue gun. White flowers in the center are from a crafting store (dry/silk flower section).

I used the wrapper from Cupcake Box template to put the windows with ornaments. Window frames, ornaments, and the green brads (Added Glossy Accents on top) are from the Oh, Joy! kit.

I cut out the circles with a knife, and the edge was not smooth even after I filed it. So I put Glossy Accents and sprinkled some Snow Glitter over. I applied it twice.

Added some sparkling glitter.

This Christmas flowers in the cupcake pot will look beautiful in my living room. =)
Thank you!
