my dog sparky

CIP2009-11-13_14

This is my dog, Sparky.
Well, actually, he wanted me to call him, “Sparkle”. But, no boy should have a name like that! It took me a long time to convince him that pink should not be his favorite color. Now he wants to be a dog named Sparkle! Ugh! And his teacher thinks he should take ballet lessons! Ackkkkkk~!!!! I already have a cute daughter who looks like a boy (Thank goodness for her long hair though!) I don’t need my boy to be girly.

I made him make his own dog tag. He wanted to sparkle up his collar with A Muse Twinkle Stickers. I usually cut up the gems one by one with an exacto knife, but he just ripped it up from the sticker backing.
He IS a BOY!

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. Mine was crazy. 27 people in my small house! I was so tired, I didn’t even go out for shopping on Black Friday (GASP!!!!!!!!!!!!). Instead, I baked some cookies.

I wanted chocolate cookies, but didn’t have any chocolate morsels, so baked snickerdoodle instead. Found the recipe from Martha Stwart cookie magazine/book that I bought 3 years ago, but never baked anything from it till now.

CIP2009-11-27_03

Here’s my very first attempt at baking cookies from scratch (with my son’s help). Heeheehee. I thought I smelled something burning in the oven. Well, at least some came out okie, and it was yum. Maybe I’ll get btter at baking if I practice more.

THANKS~~~

Patterned papers (A Muse) are scraps from my Christmas shadow bookcards project. Good thing I didn’t throw them away, hehe.

OMG! OMG! I hate glitters, but I was very inspired by Elena’s creation, I wanted to try it, too. I don’t like glitters cuz it sticks to everywhere! But, OMG~! I love how it turned out. I LOVE how glittery it looks! I LOVE GLITTERS except that it glitters everywhere else, ugh! Hehe. A love-hate relationship, hehe.

Glitters: Martha Stewart;
Buttons are Basic Grey. They are from my stash. As you can see on my blog header graphic, I do have lots of buttons. And those are not all. I LOVE buttons! I don’t use it much, but I love to buy them, heehee.

Coloring: Tombow markers on Canson watercolor paper.

These eyelets are from my stash, too. It’s from Making Memories, Stampin’ Up! (silver), and Eyeletoutlet.com.

I think it was in December that I received an e-newsletter from EyeletOutlet.com. They had a 20% off discount. And FREE SHIPPING for $50 purchase. I was thinking, who in the right minded person would buy $50 worth of eyelets?!!!!!!!!

Well… Guess who that crazy person was! And I don’t even like eyelets! Heh, heh, heh… *sigh* And guess what is my favorite book? “Confessions of a Shopaholic”, of course. I have the entire series. Yup.

Mandy by the Treehouse

written by Sunghee

AMuse2009-08-12_07

At first, I wanted to cut the wood grain patterned paper and make it look like a tree with branches and all, but I couldn’t. I can’t cut paper if there is no guide line. So I settled with just plain tree trunk. Well, Mandy doesn’t mine. She is very bubbly happy.

Created for the A Muse Lounge Challenge #7: Ink it Up!!

Stamps: A Muse Simple Wishes and Mandy’s World Bubble Girl;
Patterned paper, ribbon, gems: A Muse;
Coloring: Copic markers

It’s a treehouse with a window, okay! =) Oops, no door?

AMuse2009-08-12_11
Hmmm… bubbles not so shiny. Must work on the coloring.

Shadow Book Cards

written by Sunghee

AMuse2009-07-24_31

Until I made this card, I didn’t understand why stamp companies release Christmas stamp in summer. I mean why would I want Christmas stamps in July! I have tons of other pretty stamps that I’m dying to get my hands dirty. Winter stamps can wait till end of the year!  But, now that I’ve made few winter cards, I’m liking the idea.

Last Tuesday, I went to my somewhat local stamp company, Angela’s Happy Stamper in Reston, VA. It’s about 20 minutes ride via toll road, but it’s kinda close to an outdoor swimming pool my son loves, so I stoped by the AHS. I had to get few EZ mount foams cuz I was expecting lots of unmounted red rubber stamps from Purple Onion Designs (I won $50 gift certificate from Caardvarks challenge, WOOHOO! BTW, POD is having an ANNIVERSARY SALE right now!).

Well, AHS had a special, spend $30 on new A Muse Palooza products (or was it just any A Muse? Hmmm…) and you will be entered into a drawing to win a goodie bag. Well, I can’t say no to goodie bags, so I bought four new A Muse winter themed stamps even though I had no intention of making any christmas cards till December. I didn’t win the goodie bag (boohoo!), but aren’t these cute!

Juggling Snowman, Snow Fort, Winter Houses, Girl with Sled.

Just yesterday I found out Cupcake Craft Challenges has a Christmas card challenge, so I decided to use my new A Muse stamps.

AMuse2009-07-24_03

Urmmm… It was my first time using the Gorilla glue to bind a book. And look what it did to the inside the pages! Hehe. Arghhh~. Heehee. I had to cover it up with another layer of paper. But I didn’t want to cover the last page, so I added snow accent paint all around the houses. Also, the houses were stamped too high, so I added another row of houses.

AMuse2009-07-24_44

AMuse2009-07-24_23
Book pages were created by binding several 120 lbs. cardstock (4 or 5 sheets) and the patterned papers cuz I was using a paper punch (Stampin’ Up! Curly Label) to cut the windows out.

AMuse2009-07-24_50

Maybe I’ll coat the cover with Modge Podge glue later.

Well, today we all went to the swimming pool again. And I had to stop by the Angela’s Happy Stamper since it was kinda in the same area. Got another A Muse Palooza stamp, hehe. This was my third visit to the store to buy new AP products, heehee.
