Number of View: 441

Well, actually, it’s Broken Hand. But, my heart was broken when the stamp got torn off. It was the saddest moment in my stamping life! The little ballerina from yesterday’s post was created using the stamp from Close to my Heart’s “Dancing Dreams” set. It was the first time I was using this set. I was imagining how Bailey would enjoy stamping with this set when she is older. Then it happened. I was cleaning the stamp on the Stampin’ Scrub, and her tiny hand got torn off! I wasn’t even scrubbing it hard! I couldn’t believe it! I didn’t know clear stamps were so fragile. And I wasn’t talking about just any clear stamps. It was Close to my Heart stamps!

Anyway, I contacted CTMH, and this is what they said…

“Currently, the company does not replace stamps that tear or break down due to use. While our stamps are durable, some of the thin or delicate designs can be torn, so we advise the Consultants and customers use care when handling the stamps.

To fix your stamp, you can try using Liquid Glass to reattach the torn bits together. Just put a small bit of the Liquid Glass on the torn part, then hold the pieces together and wipe of the excess glue. Keep holding the pieces together for a good two minutes or so, and this may reconnect the stamp pieces. Though this is not a guaranteed or official technique, I have seen many Consultants recommend it.”

So sad…

Apply Liquid Glass to fix the clear stamp.

Clean off the excess glue. And let it dry.

I couldn’t tell from the image if the stamp was ever broken. Left image was stamped before the stamp was damaged.

I was able to clean the fixed stamp on the stamp cleaning pad, and it didn’t come apart. Let’s hope it’ll stay that way for a long time.
