thankful

*whew*
Yesterday was BIL’s wedding. Kyle behaved so nicely and took very good care of his little sister, Bailey. So thankful for my wonderful kids.
Today is my wedding anniversary. Seven years together! I am a complainer and tend to dwell on bad things that happened. And being married to an oldest son of the oldest of the oldest son hasn’t been easy especially with my picky personality. But, I am very thankful that I am married to a man who can put up with me. And I am so grateful for my kids.
We were so tired from BIL’s wedding, we didn’t celebrate our own wedding anniversary. How romantic~! Still thankful. Kyle said to me last night, “Mom, you were so pretty at the wedding.” How could I not be thankful! Wait a minute, maybe it was his tactic to stall his bed time. Hmmm… Still thankful!
And THANKFUL for all my blog friends! I appreciate you!

Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs Blog Hop 10/02/2009
Number of View: 984Aren’t they cute? Heehee. I used Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs’ Perfect Pumpkin to create the garage, and her Matchbox template for the cars.

When my son, Kyle saw this prototype car I made, he was so thrilled. His happy smile was priceless. He immediately went on, created the road for the car, and taped it down. He likes to mark his territory this way.

He asked me if the wheels turn. Urmmm… Mommy is not that smart.

Hey~! What are you smiling about! You have a flat tire!

Oopsie~! Didn’t measure the garage door right. Candy cars won’t fit through.
But…

You can dispense the bite size candies. Heehee.

It’s still cute even if you don’t close the lid properly.

Playing Tennis
Number of View: 259More I take photos of kids, more I think of taking photographs as playing tennis. I always loved the thought of playing tennis but never liked to play. I mean, I did not like to run toward the ball. It bounced too quickly and I was supposed to run after it? No way! I would just hold my racquet and pretended that I was participating in the game. Hoping the whole time that the ball would land right in front of me so I would not have to move much. And most of the time, it landed on my side of the court and flew away even before my brain signaled me to go after it.

Well, kids move very fast. And my kids move lightening fast. It’s not an easy task to take photos of my kids. In the beginning, I was hoping they would pose for me when I was ready to push the camera button. But, nope, that didn’t happen. I realized that I had to run after them before they moved (if it’s even possible).

Last Wednesday, I took my kids to a local park hoping to get some good, loving brother and sister smiling at their not-so patient mother, playing happily together photos. But, nope, that didn’t happen. I had to constantly ask my son (4.5 yrs old) to hold his sister’s hand (1.5 yrs old) or to stay with her, but she didn’t cooperate. She had a different agenda. She wanted to run, run, run away from everybody.

I wanted to put Kyle into an army print(?) pants while his hair was still very short like a soldier (My husband ordered(?) me not to cut his hair too short ever again.) Well, he looks more like a little Buddhist monk with the short hair than a G.I. Joe. =)

Most of the photos were edited with watercolor effect in Photoshop with the technique I learned from here. I got the helpful info from Stef’s blog.

Cherry Blossoms in Washington, DC 2009
Number of View: 270We went down to DC to see the cherry blossoms this past Saturday. It was very windy day, and crowded, of course. We didn’t even get to see the Tidal Basin, but glad we went. My husband snapped some good photos of our kids, so I was happy.

Snow in March! Eh?
Number of View: 232
We had snow yesterday. I haven’t seen this much snow in this area for a long time. Kyle loved it and Bailey enjoyed it as well.
