I'm still working on it…

recharged tractor

Hello everybody~! Hope all you had a wonderful Mother’s Day. My son made me breakfast for me. He told me I could sleep in till 10 am, but he woke me up at 8. Normally, I would tell him, “5 more minutes!!!”, but I couldn’t say that when he was excited to make me his favorite breakfast foods. I can’t wait to show him what I’ve made (for me)! I’m sure he won’t care for the tractor, but he’ll be happy to see the little Reese’s candy sitting on it.

Digital scrapbook kit: Recharged by Danielle Young Designs

It’s the latest kit by danielle and on sale this weekend. Cute huh~! When I saw the gadgets, I had to make the tractor.

Printed with my Bumper Car template, using .5″ chair template for the top chair, and .75″ chair for the bottom, stack (glue) the bottoms together. Reduced the length of the car body by .5″ in Photoshop.

Used a scrap piece of cardboard for the bottom to connect the chair and the engine.

I should’ve glued it together after attaching the rear wheels. I had to un-glue everything, add the wheels, then glue it back.

Lollipop sticks for the wheel connectors. Clear round stickers on the wheels.

Clear liquid glue on the “push” steering wheel.

Ta-da~!

Heeheehee. Sorry to post this so late. Here is the winner for $20 Red River Paper gift certificate. Order #79765 (Diana T.) I’ll email you shortly! Thank you and all who have purchased my templates! THANK YOU~~~

Hmmm… Where did the candy go?

Hi!

I made a piercing tool, needle, sanding block holder with Bumper Car template.

Modified the width on the chair template to fit the sanding block.

Using the modified chair, drew the box on the car body template.

Score and cut.

Double sided adhesive on the bottom of the chair to attach to the car.

Lily from Pink Cat Studio. I bought Lily and Billy stamp sets from 7 Kids College Fund last September. And, I finally got to play with the stamps, heehee.

I’m a big procrastinator! I meant to post this 8 months ago, heeheehee. I ordered 5 sheets of THIN EZ Mounts, and 7 Kids College Fund sent me the THICK mounting foams instead. I used to like the thick ones when I first started to stamp. But, I much prefer the thin ones now. Tab from 7 Kids sent me the replacement and let me keep the thick mounts. I told her I would give it away on my blog.

So…

I will send these THICK EZ Mounting Foams to first TWO people to leave comments here.

1st person – I’ll send 3 EZ Mounts (US and Canada ONLY, please! =)

2nd person – I’ll send 2 EZ Mounts

Thanks Jessica and Corinne!

Heeheehee. It doesn’t look anything like a car. But, I used my Bumper Car template to create this mini shadow box.

Digital kit: Noise and Trouble by Lily Designs

Hybrid Template: Bumper Car by Designs by Sunghee

I’ve included TIF files for the Bumper Car template, you can open it in Photoshop or any other image editing software to add the digital papers and elements. You will see green mask layers in the file. You can use that to create clipping masks. To find out how to create clipping masks, check out Kristen’s tutorial =)

Printed on 8.5 x 11 paper.

Score and cut the car body.

Glue it together. When scoring the top part where the chair will go in. Try to score OUTSIDE of the score line. I created the template so there would be no gap between the car body and the chair. But, everybody score differently (inside, on, or outside the line). Also, the scoring tool (thickness) and the paper weight could change the fitting.

If needed, you can use a bone folder, a scoring tool, or a pen to rub around the opening to enlarge a bit. =)

Whenever I want some curve, I like to use a round pen/tool to make the paper curl. This way, you will get a smooth curl instead of wrinkles. Hold the other side of the paper with one hand and stretch the paper with a tool. (Just like you would curl the ribbons.)

Assemble the chair. Glue the tab outside of the box so you won’t see it from the inside.

I’ve included three different sizes for the chair. Here, I used .75″ depth chair to create the shadow box.

Fit in the car.

Since I’m trying to make a mini shadow box, and wanted the round chair back as an awning, I placed the chair the other way.

It’s easier to use the liquid glue than the sticky tape to secure the chair in.

Added the cut out elements inside the chair with some 3-d foam tapes. It would have been much easier if I added the dimensions before assembling the chair, heehee.

Added the cut out digital elements outside of the car/box as well.

You can always decorate with the traditional crafting supplies like the real stickers, gems, ribbons on your hybrid project.

Heeheehee. It works as a pencil holder, too!

the battle is on

Our team name: International Ink

Only 22 hours left till the poll closes.

The Soldier Ian (The Greeting Farm) image is from Steph (our team leader). Thanks Steph!!!
Colored with colored pencils and ordorless mineral spirits, highlighted (army prints) with Smooch Accent Ink.

I used my bumper car template to create this tank. I was going to make this for the Carnival project, but didn’t get a chance to. I’m so glad I got to make it today. It’s already destroyed as my son wanted to eat the Life Saver candies. My kids like to wreck my creations and I let them. Because I feel bad that I spent too much time on crafting instead of playing with them. So, I feel redeemed(?) to see them destroy my hard worked projects. Yup. I’m weird.

I used the paper crimper to make the wheel tread.

The banner sticker had the word, “pink”, but I covered the letter “p” with a circle/heart sticker to spell it, “INK”. But, my son said it looks like, “OINK”. Nice~~~

PLEASE, PLEASE~~~ Do vote for us!!! We need to win this battle!

The Greeting Farm Royal Battle #4

Hello!

It is my turn to create for The Greeting Farm Royal Battle – week 4.

Challenge: To create candy packaging using TGF images

Our team name: International Ink

Team members: Stephanie – team leader, SheenaTanyaCorinne, and me. Corinne has a huge blog candy giveaway on her blog to celebrate her birthday right now. Happy Birthday, Corinne!!!

MANY MANY THANKS to my team for all the support!

I wanted to create an amusement park. Had about 11 ideas for this project, and only had time to make 4. I think I spent more time shopping for candies then cutting the papers. Over $40 worth of candies! Yikes! You might see more candy boxes from me in the future. Either that, my dentist will be very happy.

Put too much candies in the ferris wheel cups, oh well.

This pinwheel was inspired by Wendy. I used scallop square punch.

Yikes! Too much glitter! Clear glue hasn’t dried yet.
