Play-Doh Santa’s Sleigh

Number of View: 3458

Hi everybody!

I was not planning on making Christmas goodies for my kids preschool this year. But, I felt guilty after seeing my friend, Eva’s goodie bags that she made for her kids.

So I ended up making them with my son’s help.

Do you like my mini Play-Doh Santa’s Sleigh with candy canes?

26 sleighs ready to deliver holiday cheers!

During Halloween season, Costco sold 80 mini Play-Dohs for $10, so I stocked up on those.

Cut strips of thin red papers to cover the Play-Dohs. I don’t recommend using cardstock papers as it’s much thicker and unless you use a really strong adhesive, the paper doesn’t stick for a long time.

Attach the black ribbon around the Play-Doh.

When I need to glue a bunch of stuff with fabric/craft glue, I like to squeeze it on a piece of paper (Or a wax paper that comes with stickers), dab the embellishments on it and attach it to whatever.

Here, I dab the ribbon end to the glue, position it on the Play-Doh, slid to the right to stick the other end of the ribbon.

Like this. =)

For Santa’s belt buckles, I used a border punch and scissors to cut it out. I LOVE 7gypsies products, but this punch was not that well made. It broke the first time I used and I had to get a replacement.

I used clear dimensional glue to attach the buckles to the belt.

Let it dry, let it dry, let it dry~

These are to put on top of Play-Doh’s, bases for pine cone Christmas trees and snowmen.

It’s easier to use fabric/craft glue to attach two felt pieces together, but I had to use up the hot glue gun to change the regular refill to a glittery stick.

My son assembling snowmen with pom-poms.

Put hot glues around the pine cones, and sprinkled some tiny bead glitters.

BAD IDEA to use hot glue to attach glitters. It didn’t stick well so I ended up putting two coats of clear glue on top of it.

I shook the glitter off as much as possible, so I hope the parents won’t get annoyed by these. It’s everywhere in my crafting room and I’m still cleaning it. But, Kyle had so much fun putting it, the mess was so worth it. I think. Nah~

Attached the pine cone Christmas trees and snowmen on the Play-Dohs with a hot glue gun.

Dimensional Pearls for snow baby’s eyes and nose.

Smooch for the mouths.

Next year, I shall put hats and scarves.

Naughty looking snow babies.

Cotton stuffing around the trees.

I used Matchbox Stampin’ Up! Bigz Xl Die for sleigh seats.

Filled the boxes/drawers with peppermint candies.

Bells and name tags for drawer handles.

For sleigh sides, I used Top Note Stampin’ Up! Bigz Die. Cut it in half.

I was inspired by Patti. She made an Elf shoe card using the Top Note and I thought it would be perfect for the sleighs.

I drew a half heart shape on the inside of the cut pieces. and cut it with scissors.

Attach it to the sides of match boxes.

3-D Zots dot glues to attach candy canes for sleigh bottoms.

Have a wonderful~ Christmas!

Harvest Meal

I’ve been busy working on the Thanksgiving table decoration for my kids school. After all, I have a reputation to uphold. Hehe.

Some were real, some were fake. Artificial fall veggies/plants were put together using hot glue gun.

I wanted to add characters from children’s books on this train theme Thanksgiving meal decoration.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Indians, Little Orange Riding Hood Gourd, and Rapunzel Pumpkin.

Little Engine That Could.

Pine Cone Turkey Trains, and Pom Pom Pumpkins with train tracks.

“Some Turkey” spider web.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Harvest Meal – Some Turkey

There is a fireplace where we had the Harvest Meal at school. I was brainstorming for a decoration idea for the fireplace, and thought about Charlotte’s Web book that Kyle loved. On the book, a spider writes “Some Pig” on her web. Since it was for a Thanksgiving party, I thought “turkey” would be more fun.

I started to weave the web using hot glue gun on heat resistant mats. Kyle wanted to try. My hands felt weak from all the crafting, so I was happy that he wanted to help. Hot glue gun and no shirt on…

I added Ranger Stickles Glitter Glue on the letters.

Turkey was from another mom from school.

Felt crafted the orange spider.

I was surprised how well the double-sided tape hold the weight.

Do you spy a Little Orange Riding Hood?

My hubby grew this gourd for me to craft with. I thought it would be perfect for Little Red Riding Hood. Felt crafted the basket and arms. Hot glued on the gourd.

Eee~~~k! Spooky~~~ She look more like an alien. I must work on the face drawing.

She looked too scary, I put her on the sideway to hide her face.

Where are you going little orange riding hood alien?

Say hello to Rapunzel the pumpkin! Heehee.

Originally, I wanted to create a tall pumpkin house. Didn’t get a chance to create any doors and windows. But, I thought it would be fun to put Rapunzel on the top of pumpkins.

Nice and long 100% wool hair. Felt crafting.

Made a hole on the fake gourd. Painted inside. Add the hay and leaves.
