<p>It&#8217;s a mini fan out album using the camera element from <strong><a href="http://shop.scrapmatters.com/happy-snapper-page-kit.html" target="_blank">Happy Snapper</a></strong> digital kit.</p>
<p>Size: approximately 2 x 1.5&#8243;</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3907" title="cvisions_happysnapper_kit_cv" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/cvisions_happysnapper_kit_cv.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" /></p>
<p>Digital Kit: <strong><a href="http://shop.scrapmatters.com/happy-snapper-page-kit.html" target="_blank">Happy Snapper</a></strong> by <a href="http://blog.captivatedvisions.co.uk/" target="_blank">Captivated Visions</a>. This kit was included in August <strong><a href="http://thedailydigi.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&amp;cPath=1" target="_blank">The Digi Files</a></strong> from <a href="http://thedailydigi.com/in-the-designers-studio-with-rachel-jefferies-of-captivated-visions/" target="_blank"><strong>TheDailyDigi.com</strong></a>.</p>
<p>Tutorial was for <strong><a href="http://thedailydigi.com/playbooks/" target="_blank">August Playbook</a></strong>.</p>
<p>My son took gazillion photos of his hermit crabs, Mr. Stik and Jimmy to celebrate their birthdays and demanded that I printed all of them out. Yeah right! Not happening. So, I selected few of my favorite photos, and printed all in a 11 x 8.5 River Linen paper from <a href="http://www.redrivercatalog.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=SFNT&amp;Store_Code=RRP&amp;AFFIL=creativityinprogress" target="_blank">Red River Paper</a> and made a tiny album. It was a hit! He loved it and was showing it off to his friends. He thanked me many times.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3664" title="CIP20100715_100" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/CIP20100715_100.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><br />
Create the clipping masks using the camera element (in Photoshop, select the whole image by Control/Command + click on the layer. Create a new layer. Fill in the color). Multiplicate(?) the masks in separate layers and clip the photos. Make sure to have one mask flip horizontally for the back page.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3665" title="CIP20100716_104" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/CIP20100716_104.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><br />
Cut all the pages with scissors.</p>
<p><img title="CIP20100716_115" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/CIP20100716_115.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><br />
Glue the last image to the reverse side of the back cover page.</p>
<p><img title="CIP20100716_117" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/CIP20100716_117.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><br />
Make a hole on the pages. Take out the handle from the binder clip and add the album pages (add few pages at a time).</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3903" title="CIP20100716_129" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/CIP20100716_129.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><br />
Add clear circle sticker on the lense.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3904" title="CIP20100716_136" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/CIP20100716_136.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>We bought both hermit crabs two months ago. Mr. Stik from Outer Bank, NC, and Jimmy from a local PetSmart store. Jimmy was more active and friendly one. He even survived a fall from a dining room table after this photo shoot in July.</p>
<p>He died today. *sniff* *sniff*</p>

<p>My daughter is starting school tomorrow and my son will on Monday. I can&#8217;t believe the summer vacation is over already! How am I going to wake up early from now on!!! Hehe.</p>
<p>During the break, I wanted to take photos everyday, but I kept forgetting to take photos a lot of times. So, I gave up on day 75 (89 days of summer vacation). I was getting tired of taking photos of the same stuff over and over again and didn&#8217;t see the point of photo journalling. I want to try it again in the future though. Perhaps, I&#8217;ll have a better idea to take photos of ordinary things in different perspective.</p>
<p>This <a href="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/2010/07/hanging-out-with-mickey-d/" target="_blank">4.75 x 4.75 handmade album</a> was created with July <strong>The Digi File</strong> from <a href="http://thedailydigi.com/" target="_blank"><strong>TheDailyDigi.com</strong></a>. And the tutorial was for <strong><a href="http://thedailydigi.com/playbooks/" target="_blank">July Playbook</a></strong>.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3600" title="CIP20100625_117" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/CIP20100625_117.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" /><br />
Cover.<br />
Digital paper (white polka dot on black) from AUDacious designs <strong>&#8220;fresh&#8221; kit</strong> (from July The Digi File).<br />
&#8220;Summer&#8221; was hand written by me (gasp!!!) using a Wacom pen tool to copy the letter style from <a href="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/2010/07/hanging-out-with-mickey-d/" target="_blank">Emily&#8217;s Hybrid@Home 5, 31 Day Calendar Layered Template</a> (This is no longer available.)<br />
&#8220;2010&#8243; from the template (Combined 20 and 10) and recolored.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3590" title="CIP20100624_059" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/CIP20100624_059.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>The template came in 4.75 x 4.75, so I created 9.5 x 9.5 document for two side-by-side layouts to print on 12&#215;12 paper.</p>
<p><img title="CIP20100624_069" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/CIP20100624_069.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><br />
Score, cut, and fold in the middle.</p>
<p><img title="CIP20100624_083" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/CIP20100624_083.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><br />
Using double sided adhesive sheet and attach all the pages. Use brayer to smooth out the surface.</p>
<p><img title="CIP20100624_092" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/CIP20100624_092.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Measure the spine.</p>
<p><img title="CIP20100625_096" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/CIP20100625_096.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>Make the cover. Score and fold the spine, and don&#8217;t forget to score a line on the back cover (1.25&#8243; spacing on my sample. I think .75&#8243; would&#8217;ve worked better). This will prevent the book from warping when you open it up. Look at children&#8217;s board books for reference.</p>
<p><img title="CIP20100625_098" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/CIP20100625_098.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><br />
Inside the back cover, attach the double side adhesive sheet, make sure not to add the adhesive on the extra score space.</p>
<p><img title="CIP20100625_101" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/CIP20100625_101.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><br />
Finished spine.</p>
<p><img title="CIP20100625_108" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/CIP20100625_108.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><br />
The book opens flat (Lay-flat binding).</p>

<p>Hi there!</p>
<p>Here I used the album inserts (version 2) from the <strong><a href="http://www.afterfivedesigns.com/shoppe/product.php?productid=1553&amp;cat=0&amp;page=1" target="_blank">Mini Album Stand with A Drawer</a></strong> template to create this rolodex style album (Couldn&#8217;t really find a good name for this project, heehee)</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3223" title="CIP20100503_134" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_134.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" /></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;">.</span></p>
<p>First, the winners for my giveaways&#8230;</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3233" title="random100203-kel" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/random100203-kel.jpg" alt="" width="170" height="197" /></p>
<p><a href="http://cristinascrap.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Cristina</a> won $10 gift certificate to <a href="http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=72" target="_blank">Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs</a>.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3234" title="random100203-sc" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/random100203-sc.jpg" alt="" width="170" height="197" /></p>
<p>Adriana won <a href="http://www.afterfivedesigns.com/shoppe/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=33" target="_blank">two hybrid templates from my store</a>.</p>
<p>THANK YOU ALL!!!</p>
<p>I&#8217;m also giving my templates to <a href="http://rinnesbliss.blogspot.com/2010/04/am-crying.html" target="_blank">Corinne</a> because she was the first one to congratulate me on my post (heehee), AND she sent me $50 gift certificate to <a href="http://www.redrivercatalog.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=SFNT&amp;Store_Code=RRP&amp;AFFIL=creativityinprogress" target="_blank"><strong>Red River Paper</strong></a>. Because <a href="http://rinnesbliss.blogspot.com/2010/04/am-crying.html" target="_blank">she wanted to pay me for de-cluttering MY crafting room</a>. Heehee. THANK YOU Corinne!</p>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;">.</span></p>
<p>Here is the basic assembly for the Mini Album Stand with a Drawer template.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3204" title="CIP20100503_004" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_004.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>This is the album stand. Print, score, cut, and fold.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3205" title="CIP20100503_006" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_006.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>After putting it together (good thing I didn&#8217;t use the strong adhesive), I decided to decorate it with some eyelets.</p>
<p>Mark the holes where the eyelets will go in.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3206" title="CIP20100503_009" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_009.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Open it up. Punch the holes out.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3207" title="CIP20100503_021" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_021.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Put eyelets to decorate.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3208" title="CIP20100503_026" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_026.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Print, score, cut, and fold the album covers. Small one goes on the front. The one on the bottom goes in the side (if you decide to make an album instead of a box).</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3209" title="CIP20100503_038" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_038.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>This is the version 1 for the album inserts.</p>
<p>(TIF file comes with layered masks for you to drop digital papers/elements and photos)</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3211" title="CIP20100503_050" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_050.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Put the adhesive on the side panels and attach the album inserts.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3212" title="CIP20100503_054" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_054.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>This is for using one strip of album insert.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3213" title="CIP20100503_055" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_055.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Glue the end panels together to connect multiple inserts.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3214" title="CIP20100503_066" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_066.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Tada~</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3215" title="CIP20100503_070" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_070.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Attach it to the album cover.</p>
<p>If you want to glue the inserts to the spine&#8230;</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3210" title="CIP20100503_044" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_044.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Stretch the spine with a bone folder or a pen by holding the one end of paper and with a bone folder rub/stretch on the spine. This way, you won&#8217;t get hard crease when you open the album.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3216" title="CIP20100503_078" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_078.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Pull the inserts out, and apply the glue on the spine. Use the glue that dries clear and FLEXIBLE.</p>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;">.</span></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3217" title="CIP20100503_085" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_085.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>This is the album inserts version 2. It has the tabs for glueing.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3218" title="CIP20100503_088" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_088.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Attach it to the album cover.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3219" title="CIP20100503_092" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_092.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>To connect multiple inserts, fold the tab, and align with another insert to glue together.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3220" title="CIP20100503_097" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_097.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Attach it to the album. You can glue the spine like the insert version 1.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3221" title="CIP20100503_101" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_101.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Tada~</p>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;">.</span></p>
<p>And to make the rolodex style album&#8230;</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3224" title="CIP20100503_144" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_144.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Attach the version two inserts together without the album cover.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3225" title="CIP20100503_152" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_152.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Bunch/fold it together and apply the glue inside the ring.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3226" title="CIP20100503_153" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_153.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Add a pencil and roll it around so the glue will get on the pencil as well.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3227" title="CIP20100503_178" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_178.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Hold it while the glue dries. About 300 hours!</p>
<p>Just kidding! Heehee.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3228" title="CIP20100503_184" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_184.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Put the ribbons around while the glue dries. Space out the panels to equal distance.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3230" title="CIP20100503_204" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/CIP20100503_204.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" /></p>
<p>Of course, add the photos on the insert panels before assembling it. =)</p>
<p>Thank you~~</p>

<p>First of all, I want to thank everybody who loved <a href="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/the-greeting-farm-royal-battle-4/" target="_blank">The Greeting Farm Carnival projects</a> I made and voted for my team! THANK YOU!!! We made to the final round! Yay!!! THANK YOU!</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3058" title="dy-blessedblooms-prev" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/dy-blessedblooms-prev.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" /></p>
<p><a href="http://www.danielleyoungdesigns.com/blog/?p=813" target="_blank">Danielle Young</a> created another beautiful digital kit, <a href="http://www.thedailyscrapper.com/TDSstudio/artists_dyoung_kit.html" target="_blank"><strong>Blessed Blooms</strong></a> and it is available exclusively at <a href="http://www.thedailyscrapper.com/TDSstudio/artists_dyoung_kit.html" target="_blank">The Daily Scrapper</a>! I love the flower elements in this kit, I wanted to emphasize it on my project.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3050" title="CIP20100420_013" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/CIP20100420_013.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" /></p>
<p>I printed many many flower elements (all same size), cut, distressed, and skewered it on a florist wire (used glue to attach) to create the flower. Added a white pom pom and few beads as well.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3051" title="CIP20100420_023" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/CIP20100420_023.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" /></p>
<p>Album is about 2.5 x 2.5.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3052" title="CIP20100420_037" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/CIP20100420_037.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" /></p>
<p>I bent the wire and put in the album to create a different look on the album stand.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3053" title="CIP20100423_003" src="http://www.creativityinprogress.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/CIP20100423_003.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" /></p>
<p>And I even made a box to slide in on the side. This<strong> </strong><strong><a href="http://www.afterfivedesigns.com/shoppe/product.php?productid=1553&amp;cat=0&amp;page=1" target="_blank">mini album with a box template</a></strong> will be available on May 1st. I&#8217;m opening my shop! Heehee.</p>
<p>Thank you!</p>
