It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Number of View: 1278

Last night, I took my kids to Bull Run Festival of Lights show. They even had a carnival that my kids enjoyed very much despite the freezing cold weather. Lately we’ve been driving around the area to find houses with a nice light decoration, and though it’s not all that easy taking my kids for any outing, seeing Christmas lights definitely puts me in the holiday spirit. Kyle is so excited about Christmas and that makes this the most wonderful time of the year.

I put little crystal beads inside a Sweet Treat Cup. Print and cut the ornament element and closed it with digital paper.

Oh, and I also made a fabric ornament. I must work on my sewing skill.

Printed on a PhotoFabric.

Play-Doh Santa’s Sleigh

Hi everybody!

I was not planning on making Christmas goodies for my kids preschool this year. But, I felt guilty after seeing my friend, Eva’s goodie bags that she made for her kids.

So I ended up making them with my son’s help.

Do you like my mini Play-Doh Santa’s Sleigh with candy canes?

26 sleighs ready to deliver holiday cheers!

During Halloween season, Costco sold 80 mini Play-Dohs for $10, so I stocked up on those.

Cut strips of thin red papers to cover the Play-Dohs. I don’t recommend using cardstock papers as it’s much thicker and unless you use a really strong adhesive, the paper doesn’t stick for a long time.

Attach the black ribbon around the Play-Doh.

When I need to glue a bunch of stuff with fabric/craft glue, I like to squeeze it on a piece of paper (Or a wax paper that comes with stickers), dab the embellishments on it and attach it to whatever.

Here, I dab the ribbon end to the glue, position it on the Play-Doh, slid to the right to stick the other end of the ribbon.

Like this. =)

For Santa’s belt buckles, I used a border punch and scissors to cut it out. I LOVE 7gypsies products, but this punch was not that well made. It broke the first time I used and I had to get a replacement.

I used clear dimensional glue to attach the buckles to the belt.

Let it dry, let it dry, let it dry~

These are to put on top of Play-Doh’s, bases for pine cone Christmas trees and snowmen.

It’s easier to use fabric/craft glue to attach two felt pieces together, but I had to use up the hot glue gun to change the regular refill to a glittery stick.

My son assembling snowmen with pom-poms.

Put hot glues around the pine cones, and sprinkled some tiny bead glitters.

BAD IDEA to use hot glue to attach glitters. It didn’t stick well so I ended up putting two coats of clear glue on top of it.

I shook the glitter off as much as possible, so I hope the parents won’t get annoyed by these. It’s everywhere in my crafting room and I’m still cleaning it. But, Kyle had so much fun putting it, the mess was so worth it. I think. Nah~

Attached the pine cone Christmas trees and snowmen on the Play-Dohs with a hot glue gun.

Dimensional Pearls for snow baby’s eyes and nose.

Smooch for the mouths.

Next year, I shall put hats and scarves.

Naughty looking snow babies.

Cotton stuffing around the trees.

I used Matchbox Stampin’ Up! Bigz Xl Die for sleigh seats.

Filled the boxes/drawers with peppermint candies.

Bells and name tags for drawer handles.

For sleigh sides, I used Top Note Stampin’ Up! Bigz Die. Cut it in half.

I was inspired by Patti. She made an Elf shoe card using the Top Note and I thought it would be perfect for the sleighs.

I drew a half heart shape on the inside of the cut pieces. and cut it with scissors.

Attach it to the sides of match boxes.

3-D Zots dot glues to attach candy canes for sleigh bottoms.

Have a wonderful~ Christmas!

Digital scrapbook kit: Winter Fishing by OlgaUnger Designs

Photo cards were printed from Persnickety Prints. I placed the order around 2 am. Received an “Your package is on its way” email around 7 pm! Will definitely order from them again.

I stamped on a 5×5 cardstock, and attached it to the back of the photo.

Pardon the wrinkles! I should never have opened the package in front of my kids. They snatched it from me and took me a while to get it back. I don’t blame them cuz I love these as much as they did. It is from my friend, Anna for my birthday. My daughter really loved Tomato (the girl stamp) and can’t wait to stamp together with her. THANK YOU ANNA!!!
