Harvest Meal – Pine Cone Turkey Train

Gobble gobble choo choo~~~ Here comes the pine cone turkey train!

I’ve made seven of these turkey train sets for Thanksgiving lunch at my kids school today.

Wobble Gobble

Pipe cleaners for the train wheels.

Cut felts for beaks and wattles and attach it to the pine cones using the hot glue gun.

Using the train tracks as a guide, glue the wheels.

Attach googly eyes.

Pretty turkey trains =)

I wanted to put the train tracks on top of round hay bale. I tried to make them myself, and failed miserably.

So, I decided to cut the circles from cardboard boxes (you can use cake rounds), and made pans with burlap and hot glue. And filled it with hay instead of making the bale. So much quicker to make it.

Very cute! Reminds me of some other birds to make out of pine cones.
