Window Card

I hope you all had a nice Halloween. I almost didn’t make to the trick-or-treating. I was taking cold medicine like crazy, and all I wanted to do was sleep. I’m feeling much better after having a nice Halloween dinner at friend’s house. Had a good time with a roomful of kids making lots of noise. My kids were the wildest, of course.

What a nice and cozy scene! It’s from PaperWorksCo.

I made these tags for my kids to take to their school tomorrow for Halloween treats.

I stamped on Kraft cardstock just because I had too many left over scraps from mini books I made a while ago.

Where did I get the cute animal stamps from?

It’s from Eva!

She surprised me big time because I wasn’t expecting any packages, and it’s not even my birthday yet. She shipped me all these goodies all the way from Hawaii! For Kyle and Bailey! How sweet of her to think of my kids! Thank you, Eva! I’m very tempted to eat the cookies before my kids get to it first. Heehee.

I saw this easel card on Eva’s blog and I REALLY wanted this! So, I was very delighted to receive it. It’s mine now! =)

And look at this slider cards for my kids! Eva has a tutorial on how to make these. How cool! My kids LOVE temporary tattoos, and they’ll go nuts over these when they see it tomorrow.

These stamps are from Taj. I’ve got to see their cute stuff from Eva’s blog and wanted to try them. And, now I have it! I would love to go Taj store if I ever get to go Hawaii.

.

And look at what she made with my templates!

This monsters house was made with Book Shop Card Box template.

And this one is with Animal Box Car template.

My guest design spot at theDigiChick is almost over. You can use the coupon code LPH30TDC to save 30% on Book Shop Card Box and Rocket Bag.

I’m very proud of myself to post goodies from Eva today. Heehee. It’s embarrassing, but I haven’t been good about acknowledging all the nice things my crafty friends have sent me. I hope to improve my procrastinating behavior, and better at thanking friends.

THANK YOU EVA!!!

On the last blog post, I complained about how much I do not like writing. Well, yesterday I was a co-speaker for a photo organizing event. Can you imagine that! I turn red just talking with a group of my friends if all eyes are on me. But, I was talking in front of people last night! Eeek~!

We had about 16 attendees, and they were all friendly so I wasn’t shaking too much, hehe. Jody, a professional organizer, talked about organizing photos, and I talked about creative ways to display/save them.

All attendees were moms with young kids, and I wanted to share this layout that anybody can easily create with their munchkins.

I drew lines in Photoshop and printed on 12×12 cardstock. You can also freehand draw the box if you don’t have a software nor a large format printer. The box will fit 4×6 photo which is a standard print size from a photo developing places.

I asked my son to write things about him on his 6th birthday. I asked him to write who he is, what he likes, and likes to do on the paper outside of the box. But, he being my son, was not interested in journaling. He was drawing trains instead. But, he is crazy about trains and drawing trains is his everyday life. So this doodling represents him so well. He was tired at the time and didn’t want to bother with this scrapbooking project and was rushing to finish it.

In the end, I had to threat(?) him to write. And he did. Hehe. He wrote with light yellow marker. He insisted on yellow since it is his favorite color.

He wrote, I like popsicles. I have one sister. I like yellow. I live in Virginia.

If your kids are too young to write, ask them to doodle or you can write for them.

It was so hard to pick just one photo from the mini photo shoot we had at home on his birthday. I picked another 9 photos, printed on 4×6. Cut the sides to 4 inches.

Collaged it on 12×12 cardstock.

Display it side by side on a wall, or store it away on a scrapbook album.

Too Cute

Ugh~! I hate journaling!

Heehee.

Hate is a strong word and I keep telling my son not to express his feelings with that word, but that is how I feel about writing. I cringe whenever I write.

When I started scrapbooking, I had no plan on doing any journaling on my layouts except putting event name, location, and date. I didn’t see the needs. So what my kids don’t see the stories behind the photos? They could imagine and make their own stories. Hehe. But, I read and hear about the famous scrapbookers talking about the journaling, and I’m trying to overcome my fear. So what that my writing is not perfect and I’m embarrassed about my kids reading it! I’m sure they’ll be used to my broken English by the time they are able to read it. =)

I used supplies from PaperWorks Co. PaperCard Kit – October.

I’m a sketch challenged, so I used a digital template by Scrapping with Liz in Photoshop. This template was part of theDailyDigi Digi Files (May 2010).

Printed the photo blocks and journal on the Kraft cardstock. And, the photos separately on a 8.5×11 photo paper (Red River Paper – 75lb. Artic Polar Luster).
