I made this card to participate Let’s Capture Our Memories challenge – Die Cuts. Inspired by my friend, Corinne‘s punch flower card. She is a LCOM DT and I’ve been wanting to participate their challenges ever since she joined the team.

I was trying to create a video tutorial for how to make this chrysanthemum, but it didn’t work out. I re-took “Hi, I’m going to show you how to make this flower with Sizzix, ummmm…., blah, blah, blah… ” over and over again. I didn’t think it was that hard to make the video tutorial, but it wasn’t something I could do it without practice. Mumbling in my head was easy, but saying out loud was not comfortable. I wasn’t sure I was using the right word. I thought writing for the blog was hard, but the video was even more challenging. And, I wanted to be a movie star when I was growing up! Thank goodness I didn’t pursue that dream, hehe. I have soooo much more respect for all the crafters who make video tutorial.

Die cut flowers: Sizzix Bigz Die - Flower, Daisies #2
10 small, 6 medium, 6 large flowers. You could add more layers, I just didn’t have the patience and my fingers were aching from all crumbling, hehe.
Using the cardstock papers that have different colors on each side would be pretty, too.

Fold a small flower into half.
Then, roll it together.

Fold another small flower in half.
Wrap it around the first flower.
I used some glue to secure the side and the bottom.

Squished it on the desk to make it curl in.

Now, add the third flower around the first two.

This is the bottom of the flower.
When adding a new layer, make sure not to align the petals with the front layer.

Keep adding more layers. Wrinkle it with your fingers to shape.
.
.

It’s a 3×4 hybrid card. Printed on Red River Paper (60 lb. River Linen).
