Doodle Heart

Eeek~! I can’t believe the V-day is right around the corner. Thank goodness I no longer have to worry about the possibility of spending the day alone. There were many many times that I was dreading this holiday. Or hoping I would meet someone at the last minute and have a romantic v-day dinner together. Well, thank goodness for my hubby! I don’t know what he saw in me other than my good look (heehee =), but because of him, I no longer have to be bitter about being alone.

It’s actually a pencil holder, but I put my cosmetics instead. Yes, my face needs some maintenance. Gosh~ I just hate it when people trying to take photos of me when I don’t have .25″ thickness of make-up on! =) Anyway…

I downloaded the template from Extreme Cards and Papercrafting.

Key Ingredients + Kelleigh Blog Hops

Welcome to Key Ingredients Blog Hop AND Kelleigh Ratzlafff Designs Blog Hop! Yeah, I’m participating TWO blog hops today. =)

Please, scroll ALL~~~~~~~ the way down for the blog hop participants’ link! =)

Once again, I was inspired by my messy house, heehee. I wanted to create the cupcake themed projects for Taylored Expressions January Key Ingredients Challenge/Blog Hop. Also use Kelleigh‘s Cupcake Box Template for the pefect cupcakes. So, I was looking around my house for some ideas, and there they were, plastic Easter Eggs scattered around on the floor among my kids’ toys.

I used the rounder half of the egg for the Cupcake Box Template (Reduced to 50%).

Add Glossy Accents around the egg.

Cut the strips of paper (I used 3/4″). Wrinkle and twist. I saw this technique to make flat flowers somewhere and thought it would look nice as cupcake frosting. Used hot glue to attach it to the egg.

My cupcakes look yummy even without the frosting! =)

But looks yummier with the frosting! =)

And with button toppings.

And look at my cupcake stand! =)

I used Perfect Pumpkin Template Set (Increased the Large Lid to 115%) by Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs. And added the ribbon trim.

And the Priority Mail Box (10″ circumference) for the base. Covered it with cardstock papers. You see, The Key Ingredients ship via Priority, and you can even create a project with the shipping box! =)

A cupcake album!

How about some cakes?

Meow~
Do you like it?
I LOVE IT!
I love how it turned out, heehee. I got to play with Pink Cat Studio‘s brand new Paper Piecing Projects. I used Pazzles Inspiration Electronic Cutter for all the Pink Cat files. I’m still a novice Pazzles user, but it definitely made the cutting easier. And faster!

I’m not a cat person, but these colorful cats are irresistible!

Knitting needles were made with half pearls and toothpicks.

This is a Swarovplastic (Swarovski + plastic, heehee) Butterfly Cage. Gems are Swarovski crystals.

Still experimenting with clear sheets. Haven’t found the perfect adhesive yet. Here, I put painter’s tape (over the clear sheet’s protective cover) on the butterfly cage while the glue was drying.

This project took me three days to complete mainly because of glue drying time. I don’t think I’ll use the painter’s tape directly on the clear sheet though. It left the gummy/sticky marks, you know.

I coated Martha Stewart glitter on the antennae and the body.

iou cash envelopes

Isn’t this pretty! It’s a wallet/clutch. I made it to control my spending. Yeah, really. One of my new year resolution is to save money on groceries so I could spend more on crafting (hehe), and I found the perfect solution, thanks Kelleigh! Check out how she did it!

Using Kelleigh’s FREE Standard Envelope Template and labels.

And I was motivated to make this to participate the Paper Craft Planet 3D challenge.

Papers: Golden Harvest Collaboration by Mari Koegelenberg and Danielle Engebretson

The clutch was created using Kelleigh’s FREE Standard Envelope Template as well. I just cut off the sides, increased the body/middle section, and scored/folded the top and bottom to create the spine. Applied Modge Podge.

Bound the envies together using thread and ribbon.

Four envies for four weeks of grocery money…

.

.

And for retirement saving…

I’m serious! =)

.

.

I know, I know… I’ve made this to be better at saving money, but I know me well. I’m likely to go over my budget. So here it is… Just in case…

And inside the envelope…

.

.

And also put my kids photos so I’ll be guilty of over spending…

What about it???
Hehehe…
The amount of money I’m paying for your preschool, you’d better go to Harvard! On a full scholarship!
Hehehe…

Tough! Get yourself a rich husband or two!

Don’t worry, my kids still love me.

And a matching calender on the back. Also to hid the ribbon.

layer addict

Heeheehee. I’ve made another calendar. It is very addictive, you know. I’m actually obssessed with it these days. I have other projects to work on, but can’t stop thinking about making more calendars. Heehee.

I was watching a movie, “Pure” while editing these photos. It’s about a boy helping his mom with a heroine addiction. I watched it cause Kiera Knightley, but the boy was pretty good. Anyway, that’s how I came up with my blog post title.

These are one layer creation. I did not cut any extra papers to glue on it. It is VERY DIFFICULT technique for me, heehee. When I work on a project, I feel the need to fill up the white space or cut more papers and glue on top. I had to keep remind myself it’s okay not to make paper-piece or paper-tole project. Heehee.

Well, you can’t see it on the photo, but I had to add extra touch to the calendar. So I added glossy paint over the square Pearly Polka paper. I didn’t add extra papers, just added a coat of clear paint. =)

I’ve used Danielle Young DesignsCountdown Template and Pearly Polka digital papers to create the calendar. I doubled the height, repeated the numbers, then reduced the size down to 3.5 by 7 inches.
Calendar: 2010 CALENDAR Designs by Tracy Little

This calendar was inspired by Danielle’s blog post about a printable calendar. Thanks, Danielle!

I changed the number to dark grey for coordinating month.

Added a pearl embellishment to the paper clip.

Countdown Template is on sale for $1 this month!!! Yay!
