Creativity in progress

I'm still working on it…

Holiday and Treat Logo Stamps

Christmas gift tags for teachers using Purple Onion Designs Logo Stamps.

The green boxes came with the gift cards I bought.
Papers: K & Company.

I’ve been collecting many, many, many stamps since I’ve become addicted to the world of stamping. And I must say the Purple Onion Designs’ have one of the best quality. It stamps so well. I’m a terrible stamper, and I often have to waste lots of papers just to get a good stamped image. But, POD stamps make it easy. It gives me a very clean and even result!

Here’s what my son did with the cupcakes I baked for him.
Geez, I don’t know if I should take this as a compliment or complaint!
Did he think the cupcakes were the yummiest that he decided to create the heart for me with the crumps?
Or did he not enjoy it and decided to play with the food instead?
Well, me being a good mommy, I yelled at him for making a mess for me to clean up and told him I will not bake for him again. Then, we giggled and took photos. Why are kids so silly?

Here’s a sugar cookie I baked for my hubby. But, Kyle ate it because he loved the packaging, heehee.

ChristmasCard2009-b

Hee hee hee. I mean ho ho  ho!

I wasn’t going to send Christmas cards to family and friends this year, but we’ve been getting some cute photo cards from our friends. And their cute kid photos made me wanna play with mine.

Give me my yummy!

It wasn’t easy taking photos of Bailey. She does not listen, and had to bribe her with chocolate cookies. She got upset, but thank goodness she likes to say, “Cheese” when she sees the camera.

And, Kyle’s photo was taken 6 months ago in the summer. So, I used the digi stocking to cover his bare leg.

So, I was at a doll section at a craft store to buy some wiggly eyes. I saw this straw doll hat next to it. I thought if I put some mistletoe and ribbons outside, it would make a great holiday decoration like a wreath.

Stamps: Snowman with Hangings and Merriness Set

Then, I thought why not decorate the inside, too? Snowman from Snowman with Hangings POD stamp set would look perfect inside.

I also thought about putting a Christmas tree next to the snowman, then decided that a candy cane sticking out from both sides would look cuter.

CIP2009-12-11_49

I don’t know why, but the candy cane reminded me of fireman’s pole. Then, I thought why not make the snowmen into exotic snowgirl dancers, heehee.

Don’t ask me why, but sometimes I get these riddiculous, I mean whimsical ideas for projects. It makes me giggle just thinking about the silly scenes I could create. Heehee.

Stamps: Merriness Set and Arctic Whirlwind (Stamped on a clear sheet with Brilliance ink and added Crystal Stickles on the back)

Oh~, she is so dizzy from all the dancing!

Urmm… I used Glossy Accents to attach the clear circle sheet to the hat, but it didn’t work. So, I ended up melting the edge with a hot tool. As you can see, Glossy Accents glue hasn’t dried yet. It’ll dry clear.

Grrrr~~~! Look at that whip! I mean lights!

Lizzie Anne Holiday Blog Hop!

CIP2009-12-10_04

I’ve been thinking about what to make for my crafty friends for the holiday cards. I wanted to make something that they could add their creativity into. Initially wanted to make 3×3 mini albums for them to use, but they might not like mini albums like I do. Well, I decided to make do-it-yourself desktop calendar instead. I only made the page for December 2010, and hopefully they’ll create the rest of the months, heehee. I’ll include the calendar print out for them to add to their layouts.

Thanks to Lizzie Anne Designs for letting their Monthly Mix customers to participate in their holiday blog hop!

snow flowers

CIP2009-12-08_148

We had our first snow this past Saturday, and the snow on the tree gave me the idea for this snow flowers. I thought Danielle Young‘s newest holiday digital kit, Oh, Joy! (Collaboration with Cinzia) would make the beautiful flowers and pot with Kelleigh Ratzlaff‘s Cupcake Box Template.

I saw this gorgeous felt rose bud bouquet last week, and I immediately thought about having another baby girl (urmmm… like I could easily pick the gender, hehe). I would have loved to make the bouquet for her first birthday party. This felt bouquet put my pom-pom topiary tree that I made for Bailey’s 1st b-day party to shame. But, nah… I can’t even handle two kids that I already have. Hehe.

CIP2009-12-07_043
Printed Oh, Joy! digital papers on Epson Double-Sided Matte Inkjet Paper. Punched it out with Stampin’ Up! Scallop Circle punch.

CIP2009-12-07_051
Spiral cut.

CIP2009-12-07_064
Condition the flowers with a round pen or stylus pen so it can roll/bend easily. This way you won’t get the creases in the paper. The pen I’m using on the photo came with American Crafts rub ons.

CIP2009-12-08_070
Curl the edge using the pen. Roll from the outside of the circle to form the flower.

CIP2009-12-08_078
Form the bud, and glue the bottom. I used hot glue gun.

CIP2009-12-08_081
Glue the center. I used the tweezer to hold the center while the glue dried.

CIP2009-12-08_065
I put 3″ styrofoam inside the cupcake and attached the flowers with the hot glue gun. White flowers in the center are from a crafting store (dry/silk flower section).

CIP2009-12-08_092

CIP2009-12-08_121
I used the wrapper from Cupcake Box template to put the windows with ornaments. Window frames, ornaments, and the green brads (Added Glossy Accents on top) are from the Oh, Joy! kit.

CIP2009-12-07_016
I cut out the circles with a knife, and the edge was not smooth even after I filed it. So I put Glossy Accents and sprinkled some Snow Glitter over. I applied it twice.

CIP2009-12-07_032
Added some sparkling glitter.
