TEBB Challenge #9

This was the most difficult challenge among 13 TEBB challenges. I didn’t know what to make. I love the shabby/chic style, but I wasn’t sure how I could create the look. So, I decided to “tackle” this challege first, and had the bestest time while working on it.
Painted a 4×6 canvas with acrylic paints. I didn’t have any pink acrylic, so used red instead. But, it just didn’t give me the light pastel pink color. But, I still love how it turned out =)

Taylored Expressions Birthday Bash Challenge #9: Inspired by the photo (Soft, muted colors accented with brown for an aging effect, distressed & shabby.
Ooops, I didn’t use any brown on mine. But, the brush stroke and the music note background stamped image look distressed, heehee.

Stamps: Gorjuss from Sugar Nellie (Colored with Tombow markers on watercolor paper); Early 1900′s Music Background from Purple Onion Designs;

What a beautiful piece! I love the soft colors and how the musical notes mimick the newspaper print in the inspiration photo. I think the (gesso?)/paints lend a great shabby feel. Thanks so much for playing in my challenge!
