Siblinghood of the Traveling Pants

Number of View: 305Growing up as a second daughter, I had to wear a lot of hand-me-downs from my sister. I hated it. I liked girly style, she wore boyish cloths. I vowed at a young age that I will NEVER put hand-me-downs on my kids even they are the same gender.
Well, I have a 4.5 years old son and 17 months old daughter. And I put his cloths on her. Urmmm… I NEED to save money for new stamps. I can’t afford to buy new cloths for my kids, ya know. Heehee.
It’s my daughter on the picture wearing the pants that her brother once wore. I stamped with Palette ink, colored with Copics, and embroidered. Urmmm… She better not spill any foods on it. Hehe.
Created for the Greeting Farm “No Layers” Challenge.
Stamp: the Greeting Farms “Showtime”;
Jewel: Swarovski Crystals from My Favorte Things Stamp;
Threads: DMC;
Ink: Palette Hybrid Noir;
Coloring: Copic Markers;
Trying to fit the small pants through the embroidery hoop was the trickiest part.
Embroidery hoop & tools: Clovers.

This embroidery idea was inspired by Kathy’sĀ one layer card.

Love the spin on old boys pants. I have two girls 13 mos. apart and two boys 4 1/2 years apart. We are in hand-me-down city! Thanks for the inspiration.
