Elzybells’ Challenge 17

Number of View: 275

I was very impressed with the care she put into shipping the stamp I ordered from her. I wish I ordered more. I got Faux Postage (clear stamp) set, and it worked beautifully.

To show my appreciation, I wanted to participate in her card challenge #17.  Recipe: 1 piece of ribbon, a circle and an embellishment

Cardstock: American Crafts (pink); Stampin’ Up! (Vanilla, clear sheet);
Ink: Stampin Up! (green); Brilliance (pink); Staz-on (white);
Ribbon & jumbo eyelet: Stampin’ Up!;

Copic Certification at the Queen’s Ink

Number of View: 1921

I took a Copic certification class this past Sunday at the Queen’s Ink in Savage, MD. I’ve never used Copic markers (well… I tested/scribbled at an art supply store once, but never used it to color or anything) or own it. Well, I now have 10 markers/pens!

Time: 9am to 2pm-ish, 10 minute morning break, 1 hour lunch break.
Instructor: Sally Lynn MacDonald

Goodies from the class: 12 8.5 x 5.5 white cardstock; Copic brochures; 1 pouch; 1 Colorless Blender refill; 1 Ciao Colorless Blender marker; 2 Original markers; 1 Wide marker; 2 Sketch markers; 2 Multiliner pens; 1 atyouSpica pen; 1 Various Ink (refill); 1 mist spray bottle (not shown)

Sketch markers set and Memento ink were used in the class, not part of the goodies :(

Elephants were colored using my NEW copic markers, and Prismacolor pencils. I made these cards at home.

Happy Easter Anya!

Number of View: 1394

I created this egg shaped card for the Greeting Farm‘s “Don’t be a Square” challenge. Easter Anya is a digital stamp, and even with the heat setting, I was having a hard time trying to dry the printer ink. I wanted to use the ordorless mineral spirits to blend the colored pencils, but didn’t want to risk of ink smudging everywhere.

Cardstock: Georgia Pacific 110 lbs. (I will not use this to print the digi stamps again.)
Stamps: the Greeting Farm (Easter Anya Digital Stamp);  BasicGrey
Inks: Stampin’ Up! (hmmm… I don’t think it works well for clear stamps); Memento
Fibers: EK Success
Brad: BasicGrey
Jewel: Rhinestones from Michael’s

Cherry Blossoms in Washington, DC 2009

Number of View: 248

We went down to DC to see the cherry blossoms this past Saturday. It was very windy day, and crowded, of course. We didn’t even get to see the Tidal Basin, but glad we went. My husband snapped some good photos of our kids, so I was happy.
